An 'Almeh' is a dancer from the middle-east. Not the hollywood cabaret version, but the women who dance at private women's festivals; ie, weddings, etc. where the men's festivities are separated from those of the females. Make no mistake though, this type of dance is a celebration of womanhood, in itself - full of sensuality, independance and fulfillment that rivals practically anything the western world has to offer.
